Drama 7/8

This yearlong course of study is designed for seventh and eighth-grade students to attain techniques in performing before an audience, to gain confidence in themselves, and to acquire knowledge of those areas related to theatre and performing. The focus is on acting, speaking, and performing. Activities include improvisation games, puppet shows, theatre history projects, and more. Students will also perform monologues, scenes, and short plays in class throughout the year.

Advanced Drama

(Drama 7/8 and Auditions required)

this yearlong course of study requires an audition to be a member of the class. Students will continue building on the skills from Drama 7/8 with an emphasis on performing. Advanced Drama will perform three times during the year - October, March, and May. All rehearsals will be during the class period, but two evenings per show will be required for public performances (dates will be given with the audition information in April). Students will also be eligible to perform at or attend the Jr. Thespian Festival in January.
